How it works

The Wireless Sensors are fitted to the wheel's valve stem. To install, simply replace the valve cap with the TyreDog Wireless Tyre Pressure monitoring sensor.

The Relay / repeater system must be mounted underneath the vehicle. This can be powered up by 4 x AA Batteries or you can hard-wire to a 12V/24V Power Source.

Once the Sensors and Relay are fitted and the monitor/receiver is turned on (Powered by 12/24V Cigarette Lighter Adaptor), the latest Pressure and Temperature information will be updated on the monitor/receiver. This should occur within minutes after the wheels begin to rotate.

The sensors are constantly monitoring and reading your vehicle’s tyre pressure and temperature. As soon as there is a change in pressure, the sensors will transmit the latest pressure and temperature reading to your monitor.

If the tyre pressure falls or rises above the user preset levels, the unit will beep to alert the driver. There is also a visual indication on the Monitor / Receiver unit for additional support. Low, High Pressure and High Temperature threshold settings can be adjusted by the user.

You may choose to fit the supplied SecureFit ring to ensure the sensor is securely fastened. This SecureFit ring can also act as a theft deterrent.

We've designed these sensors for off-road use. They are suitable for river-crossings, sand, mud and everything in-between.

Versatile Mounting

Mount the Tyredog how you want it. The super-strong suction cup can be mounted on the glass, or dashboard. Utilising the ball join, the TyreDog screen can be perfectly positioned to your liking.

FAQ

Are the Sensors Water and Dust Proof and will they handle river crossings?

Yes, providing the cap has been tightened properly, the TYREDOG™wireless Sensors have been designed to be completely sealed. Each Sensor features a rubber Seal that prevents water, condensation, dirt, dust and mud from damaging the device.

This means they are Water, Dust and Mud Proof and river crossings will not be a problem. Just be sure they are rinsed off after entering any salt water to avoid corrosion.

What is the estimated battery life and where can I purchase them?

External Type (X) Sensors - The Estimated Battery Life will be approximately 1 year. Battery life also depends on how often or how many hours the vehicle is used. Each sensor contains 1 x 3V CR1632 Battery. The cost of a replacement battery will range from $3 to $6 and are available from most leading electronic stores. Alternatively, you can purchase them through our website in the Replacement Parts Section.

Monitor / Receiver - The Estimated Battery Life for the monitor / receiver is also approximately 1 Year. This also depends on how often the device is being used. If the monitor is left on, it will automatically switch off and go into sleep mode. This helps to prolong the battery life. The monitor will automatically switch on again once it detects movement.

The Sensors look easy to steal, can they be secured?

Each kit contains a SecureFit fixing ring which, once installed, will help prevent Sensor theft.

These SecureFit rings are easy to install and each kit contains the tools required for proper installation.

Due to the small and compact size of each Sensor, they are not really a target for theft as they look very similar to an ordinary valve cap.

Note: Relay must be used otherwise the unit will not work.
